In their latest video, Verge Permaculture explains the importance of an automated garage door for passive solar greenhouses.
“The garage door is one of the most important parts of a passive solar greenhouse,” they say. “This is activated based on a small computer and thermostat that determine when the greenhouse is too warm.”
They continue to explain that when the temperature hits 25 degree Celsius, the door automatically opens. “We get huge ventilation opportunities,” they say. “This prevents the greenhouse from getting to the 30-35 degrees Celsius, which is kind of the threshold for plants to stay healthy.”
