"ToBRFV also plays 'a big role' in tomato supply disruption"

Rising energy prices are severely affecting European greenhouse horticulture. That became all too clear to the Belgian regional newspaper, the Gazet van Antwerpen when it asked Coƶperatie Hoogstraten about the impact on several crops. There will be very few strawberries and tomatoes this winter.

That is contrary to the recent trend. People can thank the energy crisis for that. However, one should not forget about the ToBRFV tomato virus, says Jan Engelen on behalf of the cooperative. You can read the entire article here (in Dutch), in which Belgian tomato grower Paul Stoffels of Stoffels Tomaten is briefly interviewed too.
