Tomato prices up marginally in Nigeria

According to data from Nigeria's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in September 2022, the price of 1kg of tomatoes increased by 3.29 percent to N445 from the preceding month's N431. Analysis by zone showed that the average price of 1kg tomato was higher in the South-South and South-East at N711 and N643, respectively, while the lowest was recorded in the North-East at N209.

The South-South recorded the highest average price of 1kg of local rice at N519, followed by the South-West at N514, while the lowest was recorded in the North-West at N417.

Similarly, the South-East recorded the highest average price of brown beans at N790, followed by the South-South at N673, while the North-East recorded the least at N397.
