Building an aquaponics greenhouse in Bahrein

Kingpeng is building a 2-hectare aquaponics greenhouse in Bahrein. They aim to finish the project before 2022, after which the transplanting can start. This project is an expansion of an already existing 1-hectare greenhouse that was built in 2016 and aims to be the first greenhouse in Bahrein that uses both hydroponic and aquaponic growing techniques.

Over the past 5 years, the 1-hectare greenhouse has already played an important role in the local food and vegetable supply in Bahrein. With the expansion, the industry is expected to grow even further, not only in Bahrein but also in the greater Gulf area. The project is supported by the royal family and the government of Bahrein. The vegetables will be distributed to local restaurants, fast food chains, and supermarkets.
