On January 1, Jelger de Vriend will start as Business Development Director at Groen Agro Control. In this role, he will be responsible for developing markets and for the market team.
Jelger has more than 20 years of experience in the international fresh produce and retail sector. Previously, he was co-founder and managing director of Innovative Fresh, a laboratory focused on measuring the quality of fresh produce in supermarkets. He is also co-founder and director of InQuality. In 2020, Innovative Fresh and InQuality became part of Normec Foodcare, a company in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification sector. Jelger previously worked in various roles for Total Produce, Albert Heijn, and Chiquita.
Groen Agro Control has laboratories and research facilities in the Netherlands and Peru. The company operates for customers in the fresh produce and horticultural sector, and the food industry. Groen Agro Control offers a range of laboratory analyses, such as microbiological and residue analyses for the fruit and vegetable and food industry.
In March of this year, Groen Agro Control also became part of Normec Foodcare. In addition to his new role at Groen Agro Control, Jelger will continue to be responsible for Normec Foodcare’s Fresh Produce Team and Innovation Team.
