With a series of podcasts Spanish tomato growing company Looije won an award on the Fruit Attraction trade show. The video series shows the life of the growers that currently form the growing cooperation OPFH Looije, growing Sarita cherry tomatoes.
This year on the Fruit Attraction Looije updated everybody on the Minerva, their product line that they launched a year ago, in the midst of the pandemic. Next to that, Looije participated in several competitions.
They made it to the finals in the one about 'Internet Stars', a competition that awarded the fruit and vegetable companies that use new communication platforms, in which Looije was a finalist in the Best online company category.
Then there were the Innovation Hub awards,' in which the Fruit Attraction jury awarded the best and most original innovation projects within the sector.

The award they brought home was one for 'Relatos de # AgroInspiración', a podcast contest that sought to honor the daily work of agricultural workers. In this last contest, Looije's piece, 'On vacation and life-saving', was awarded first prize. The company will donate the € 1,000 prize to the Águilas Mental Health Association (Afemac).
'On vacation and life-saving' tells the personal story of three of the 13 producers that currently form OPFH Looije. They are Sebastian Picon, who at only 24 years old founded the 'Recuerdo de Sabor' company after suffering a cervical tumor that left him tetraplegic; Vincent Looije, a Dutchman who landed in Spain in 1998 and created from scratch a company that currently employs more than 200 people; and Juan Antonio Mendez, an agricultural buff who uses his daily work to treat his OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder).

From the perspective of the firm's management, with all these achievements, the company's participation in this last fair could not have been more successful. “Attending Fruit Attraction 2021 was, for us, a long-awaited return to Ifema and, above all, a very pleasant reunion with the sector and some of our clients. It's true that this edition wasn't attended by as many visitors as the previous editions, but the professional community continues to be very solid and commercially speaking, once again, we have more than enough reasons to be very satisfied with our work and the results we obtained,” stated Juan Jose Lopez Lopez, general director of the OPFH.
