How to make the most of your vertical farm? How do you select your LEDs? What varieties to use? What are the challenges for the indoor growing industry? How do retailers deal with indoor-grown produce? How will the market develop in the coming years? And, not unimportant, how has everybody been doing? All these topics - and many more - were discussed during the Indoor Ag-Con event on held 4 and 5 October.
This year the event did not take place in Las Vegas as usual but was relocated to Orlando Florida. Being home to the Kalera Hycube Harvest Terrace facility, a visit to the facility could not be missed out. So, prior to the two-day event, a get-together sponsored by Signify was hosted. Attendees had the chance to network with industry friends, enjoy cocktails & hors d'oeuvres, and see and learn more about Kalera at the place where it all began.
The Indoor Ag-Con consists of a great number of educative sessions to help the growing industry to keep growing, and a trade-floor where over 50 suppliers showed their tools to help growers maximize their output with minimal input. On both days keynotes were led by leading indoor growers: David Rosenberg, CEO of Aerofarms, Austin Webb, CEO of Fifth Season, and Mike Zelkind, CEO of 80 Acres.
on top of that, Native sponsored an “After Party“ each evening, inviting all exhibitors, attendees, and speakers to stop by at The Pub Orlando to keep the party going after the show closed each day.
"We think this October edition has really helped set the stage for an even stronger event in Las Vegas in October. The co-location with the NGA is creating a lot of attention and interest around the new networking and partnership opportunities it should provide," the organizers say.
Due to the travel restrictions, we could not make it to the show ourselves, but fortunately, we received many pictures. Please find our photo report here and feel free to send us your photos to have them included!
