La Linea Verde

Slow but constant recovery for the fresh-cut range

The fresh-cut segment is recovering for La Linea Verde, but we are still not back to pre-pandemic levels. ValĂ©rie Hoff, the company's marketing and communications manager, reported that "over the past few months, consumption has increased - May 2021 recorded a 15% increased compared to May 2020 - but we need to remember that there was considerable drop last year." 

Bagged salad in particular is recovering slowly. "Single-course meals are much more dynamic, as the season is finally in full swing. In our case, the recently-introduced Family Salad bowls (in the photo below)  are doing well because they have proven to be the right product to meet a new need." 

"They are in fact fruit of a market analysis and of how the market developed rapidly over the course of a few weeks last year, completely redefining consumption in our segment. These family-sized rich salads are welcomed by the Italians, who have changed the way they eat their meals since they now share them at home."  

"We are still focusing on exports, mainly to Belgium, France, Austria and the Netherlands. Around 30% of the total production is destined abroad. The foreign market was more stable than the Italian one and enabled us to compensate the lower volumes last year," added the manager (in the photo).

To guarantee an increased freshness between harvesting and packaging, La linea Verde has branches in France, Spain and Serbia.

"We have received great feedback for our Poke Bowl line (photo above) as well - an innovative range of fresh dishes with rice, fruit, vegetables and high-protein ingredients. They were developed with a modern, curious target in mind, people who like to experiment and who can now find the coolest trend available on supermarket shelves."
