An effective tool to maintain fruit freshness and good quality

PlanFresh is a technology that preserves fruit using 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP). It can keep the fruit colorful, fragrant, juicy, and flavorful during transit and storage, keeping the fruit fresh at all times. Cathy is the commercial manager at Chesen and she introduced the function and usage of PlanFresh technology in the fresh produce sector.

Cathy first introduces how the product functions, "1-MCP interacts with the ethylene receptor and inhibits the response of organic material to ethylene, which delays the ripening process, maintains the fruit’s freshness and firmness, and keeps fresh fruit at peak quality for longer.” Cathy said, “more and more studies and tests have examined the effects of 1-MCP on varieties of apples, stone fruits, berries, melons, tomatoes, broccoli, okras, cut flowers and many other fresh crops."

"PlanFresh is an eco-friendly system, which can be used in small packages, trucks, containers and storage rooms for fresh produce. It has a special design procedure for many crops, and it is convenient to use. Besides, it is a safe system which allows the fruit to be consumed soon after being treated."

“We are always ready to support distributors and farmers by providing efficient agricultural chemicals across the industry to enhance plant values and increase the efficiency of the supply chain, while reducing crop waste and conserving our resources on the earth,” Cathy said.

At the moment, Chesen is only allowed to sell in China. “We are looking for more partners who have an interest in being our agents for the registration of 1-MCP,” said Cathy, “we also supply many kinds of other agrochemicals, especially plant hormones. Chesen agrochemicals have been already officially exported to South Asia, South America, the Middle East and Africa.”
