Russian strawberry grower starts harvesting

LLC Vkus Stavropolya, the biggest greenhouse strawberry producer in Russia, has just started harvesting.

This year, the enterprise switched to a year-round system which means that all the berries they grow, except for the Dutch Elsanta variety, will be available nonstop.

Last year, the company harvested almost 900 tons of strawberries from an acreage of 6 ha. The produce from Stavropol is available outside the region, from Saint Petersburg to Novosibirsk.

Currently, the second phase of the Multyberry Agricultural Park is under construction in Stavropol. Once launched, the production volume will increase to 1.4 thousand tons of berries a year. About half of the tunnels with an overall acreage of 12 ha will be allocated for strawberries and another 7 ha will accommodate blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries.
