Tomato harvest for export started in geothermal greenhouses in Afyon, Turkey. Afyon growers were very satisfied with the yields and prices and stated that demand has increased during the pandemic process.

Noting that production increased even more during the coronavirus pandemic, the geothermal greenhouse growers in the Sandikli district of Afyon experienced a significant increase in the demand for tomatoes from the export markets.

Tomatoes produced in greenhouses that are completely heated with geothermal energy are of high quality. Grower Serkan Vural stated that their business accelerated during the pandemic process and said, “We are exporting for the first time. Our tomatoes are sold domestically and abroad.
