Greenhouse vegetable production increased by 20% in Russian region Krasnodar

The greenhouse complexes of the Krasnodar region have grown with  119 thousand tons of vegetables in 2020. This is a 20% growth compared to the previous year, the press service of the regional government reported.

Most greenhouse vegetables were grown in the regions Dinsk, Belorechensk, Timashevsk, Krasnoarmejsk, Seversk, and Krasnodar.

According to the vice-governor of Krasnodar, Mr. Andrey Korobka, there are currently 10 greenhouse complexes in the area with overall acreage of 230 ha.

“Their capacity allows us to cover the needs of the region by supplying fresh vegetables all year round”, the vice-governor mentioned.

In the last 6 years the acreage of greenhouse complexes in the region has almost doubled. Two major greenhouse complexes with the acreage of 30 ha each were launched in 2020 in Severk and Tikhoretsk only.
