Recently, a complete repair facility was installed by Glass Handling Technic on behalf of Bosman van Zaal. This time at the new greenhouse of WUR in Wageningen.
The roof of the greenhouse is made of insulating glass and provided with an outside screen that is mounted on the ridge. The difficult accessibility of the roof and the weight of the glass was the reason for WUR to invest in a device which makes safe repairs possible.
Drive through 1 gutter
It was a special challenge for GHT to develop a special Repair Shuttle for this greenhouse that can only drive through 1 gutter and yet is stable enough to repair safely. GHT has made a step-by-step plan with various phases and starting points.
After presenting a 1e concept design, the various phases were completed and the final model was completed at the end of September. After the Repair Shuttle has undergone the required inspections and various load tests were carried out on a test greenhouse, the facility fully complies with the CE guidelines.
