US (TX): VegOut! Farms completes major expansion in October 2020

VegOut! Farms, a commercial hydroponic grower just 46 miles west of Houston, Texas, has completed a 40,000 sq. ft. expansion to their hydroponic controlled environment growing facilities.

Specializing in tomatoes, mini cucumbers, peppers, lettuce, herbs and now, branching out into strawberries, this company is seeing significant growth even in challenging times. With an emphasis on freshness, quality and capitalizing on locally grown, VegOut! looks to further expand in 2021.

“Our customers want superior taste and are looking for unique items not commercially grown by larger facilities. We like to give them the unique and odd varieties that no one else focuses on. This keeps our customers coming back for more each year,” Brenda Anderson Koch, VegOut! owner, who has over 10 years of growing experience, and a background in agriculture.

“While H-E-B continues to be our main buyer, we are adapting our business model growing for chefs, restaurants, and home delivery services. We have also opened a General Store onsite that will allow the public year-round access to our products as well as providing an opportunity for other local farmers who need an outlet for their goods.”

As a continuing educator, Anderson Koch will provide tours to the general public and schools commencing January 2021, keeping the pipeline open for future farmers and growers for many years to come.
