Agribio®

High-performance and practical biodegradable mulching films

There is increasing attention towards the issue of environmental sustainability linked to agriculture and the preservation of natural resources such as soil, water and air has become of the utmost importance.

This is why Agriplast, a company that has always aimed at mitigating the impact of agriculture on nature, has focused on materials that can fulfil these needs.

Ecological problems are caused by the direct contact of materials with the soil, but this contact is necessary to obtain good crops. One of the most recent solutions that meets the needs of modern agriculture is Agribio®: a mulching film made of compostable and biodegradable material.

Agribio ®, eco-friendly mulching film that saves time and money
Using compostable-biodegradable films is an important evolution when it comes to mulching. What is more, Agribio ® combines the advantages of a mulching film, i.e. less water needed and weed control, with economic, technical and environmental advantages.

Sustainable and practical
The fact that films do not need to be removed at the end of the cycle means lower labor costs and fewer problems linked with plastic disposal. The latter is a huge advantage, if we consider the lengthy procedures needed for a correct collection of plastic materials in agriculture.

Seven layers for great mechanical resistance and a low thickness film that favors thermal insulation
The advantage of developing new materials with a high technological content also has an effect on their efficiency. The low thickness and unique materials used, in fact, mean Agribio ® provides higher thermal insulation favoring the development of the root system.

Agribio ®, Agriplast's compostable-biodegradable film, is only produced in the 7 layer version, meaning it has exceptional mechanical properties despite the low thickness. Agribio® is available in three colors (nero, bianconero and fumè) so as to meet various agronomic needs and so that it can be employed in various seasons and weather conditions.
