Russia: Second phase of biggest greenhouse in Chuvashia has launched

The greenhouse complex Novocheboksarsky, capable of producing 20 thousand tons of vegetables a year, has been fully launched in Chuvashia (Russia), as reported by Rosselkhozbank.

The project started in 2017, the first phase of the greenhouse complex in the territory of Altashevsky village was launched in October 2019. Rosselkhozbank invested 57.5 million euros in it. The overall number of employees reaches 400.

The greenhouse complex with an overall acreage of 22 ha allows growing organic cucumbers and tomatoes all year round. It is planned to use supplemental lighting and high-accuracy climate control systems for high productivity. Every square meter is expected to produce over 70 kilos of tomatoes and 120 kilos of cucumbers per year. The produce will be sold in Chuvasia and neighboring regions.
