Apple net that avoids weather influences and stimulates colouring

The Santa Giustina lake, and the lush Val di Non are the scenografic setting for Osvaldo Seppi’s netting installation in Sanzeno, Trento, Northern Italy. which you can see in the video below. Here, about one hectare of Tessa apples are being grown, a brand created by Melinda and La Trentina from the variety Fengapi, a breed of Gala and Cripps Pink.

The apples are covered by Total Grey net by Artes Politecnica. This net favours the colouring of the apples and reduces the environmental impact of the installation in the landscape. After many laboratory tests and various trials all around the world, Artes now offers a woven net made of 0.33mm thread, carbon black and UV stabilized. The product grants an optimal resistance to hail, rain et cetera, and a long duration. It’s colour avoids sunburn with a shading of about 11%, and it favours light refraction in periods when the sunlight isn’t intense.
