A peek into a traditional Syrian soap factory

This video shows how soap is traditionally made in Syria. The soap consists of olive oil, laurel oil, water, and lye. These ingredients are boiled for no less than three days. The mixture is spread out, cut, and stacked. The drying process can take up to nine months. It must smell wonderful in there.
