World’s largest carrot producer exploring sale

Grimmway Farms, headquartered in Bakersfield, California may be up for sale. A statement issued by the company says, “exciting opportunities to better serve our customers and position the Company for the future are being considered.”

“Throughout the 51-year history, the family-owned enterprise has regularly looked at how to best meet the increasing demand for fresh produce, while continuing to serve customers worldwide who rely on Grimmway’s unparalleled commitment to quality, availability and customer service,” the statement continued. Because demand for Grimmway’s products continues to grow, the families are evaluating opportunities to best position the Company forward.

Brothers Rod and Bob Grimm had a produce stand before they founded the company that is now the world’s largest producer of carrots and organic vegetables. Today, Grimmway Farms produces more than 135 seasonal and year-round products that are 100 percent USA-grown but distributed worldwide.

“We are as focused as ever on ensuring that Grimmway Farms continues to grow the best produce in the world and provide good jobs for thousands of people in communities across the country.”
