Recently, the export price of Indian dried chilis to China has increased. The main reason is that, on the one hand, India’s domestic stock is gradually decreasing. On the other hand, the economic recovery of major importing countries such as China is gaining momentum, especially the catering industry has started to recover after a long period of inactivity, which makes the market's demand for condiments and other raw materials to begin to increase.

"Generally speaking, the market price of dried chilis in China is still at a high level and there is no sign of it falling. Judging from our sales in the Chinese market, sales are relatively smooth. Compared with the same period of last year, the price of dried chilis from India has increased by about 10%. In China, these products are mainly sold to processing plants, restaurants, and condiment markets,” Mr. Bai of Dalian Nongchang International Trade Co., Ltd. said.

Since the outbreak of Covid-19 at the beginning of the year, control measures adopted by various countries have brought obstacles to the export of a variety of agricultural products. However, the export of dried chilis to China has not been greatly affected. Mr. Bai said, “The Indian National Export Department has always provided strong support and assurance for the export of produce, and provided immediate assistance to all parties."
