High school students in Bartin, Turkey are learning about greenhouse production and high-tech greenhouse production know-how. As a part of the project, the students are learning about hydroponic production in a remote-controlled greenhouse.
The students were involved in all parts of the production process and even worked in the preparation of the greenhouse for the project. In the project, the greenhouse is integrated into an automated system where the irrigation and ventilation are managed remotely. The students grow strawberries, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and green pepper in the greenhouse equipped with smart automation systems.
The students remarked that the involvement with the project increased their interest in agricultural production and that they might be looking to pursue a career as a grower.
