Turkey: Hydroponic greenhouse strawberries waiting to be harvested

An entrepreneur from the Turhal district of Tokat (Turkey) is planning to grow 110 tons of strawberries in the hydroponic greenhouse he has built.

The greenhouse is about 5,000 square meters in size and the production is completely soilless. There are about 115,000 strawberry seedlings in the greenhouse and with the automated irrigation system, it takes only 10 minutes to irrigate all the seedlings. The production is done via the use of cocopeat. The strawberry harvest continues for 9 months of the year in the city due to its favorable climate conditions. The entrepreneur has now set his sights on the export markets and would like to start marketing his high-quality products to foreign markets.
