Russia: Greenhouse production in Kuzbas enhances every year

Greenhouse production in Kuzbas has been growing steadily year after year: in 2019 12,9 thousand tons of cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and herbs were produced, which is 117% of the planned productivity (11 thousand tons). To compare, in 2018, 8 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables were produced, so there is a tendency for growth.

“The demand for high-quality, fresh, locally produced vegetables remains at the same level. Especially in the Siberian region they are needed, all year round. Because of the contemporary technologies and no chemical substances used in the production process, we provide bio produce that get to the supermarket shelves right from the greenhouse. Therefore it is in our interest not to decrease production, and the overall greenhouse acreage has already exceeded 28 thousand ha”, commented the Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kuzbas, Andrey Aritkulov.

Currently, the greenhouse complex LLC KDV Yashkinskie Teplitsy is the biggest supplier of vegetable produce. The acreage of the complex is 9.8 ha; all the systems are automated. In 2019, they harvested 5.29 thousand tons of vegetables, 41% of all greenhouse produce in Kuzbas. Apart from LLC KDV Yashkinskie Teplitsy, cucumbers, tomatoes and greenery are produced by JSC Sukhovsky (Kemerovo region), LLC Adamant (Novokuznetsk region), LLC Agro Elit-Invest (Novokuznetsk region), Kolkhoz Imeni Ilyicha (Belovо region). According to the preliminary forecasts, in 2020 11.2 thousand tons of vegetables are planned to be produced in Kuzbas, which is 200 tons more than last year. The increase should be achieved by reaching new production capacities.
