New agrotextiles will be exhibited at Expo Agroalimentaria 2019

Arrigoni S.p.A., the group specialising in the production of protective screens for agriculture, will again be one of the exhibitors at Expo Agroalimentaria, Latin America’s biggest farming industry event, to be held at Irapuato, in Mexico, from 12 to 15 November this year.

Arrigoni technical experts will be presenting high-tech, completely green solutions for the most widely varying crops, from tomatoes to bell peppers and all commercially grown vegetables and fruits at stand 540 hall A.

Among those solutions will be Biorete Air Plus, screens that guarantee insect protection and better ventilation for fruit and vegetables both in high-tech greenhouses and in more traditional growing methods, ideal for 100% organic crops.

The screens consist of textiles in ARLENE HT, a low-thickness but extremely tough, durable HDPE (high-density polyethylene) monofilament.

For Biorete Air Plus there is also a choice of mesh sizes, so protection can be tailored to suit the specific crop. The yarn is thinner than the standard, to allow crops to enjoy better ventilation even in hot climates, while still guaranteeing effective protection against even the smallest insect pests. Strength is also higher than standard, for a more lasting investment.

The range runs from Biorete 50 Air Plus, with monofilament 0.17 mm in diameter and an air passage of 48%, protecting against Bemisia Tabaci and aphids, up to Biorete 90 Air Plus, with weft monofilament 0.15 mm in diameter that provides an air passage of 22%, offering an effective barrier against even the smallest thrip species.

“After the excellent response we received last year,” comments Arrigoni Group Export Manager Patrizia Giuliani, “we are now coming back to take part in Expo Agroalimentaria a second time. We consider this event extremely strategic for our Group, especially in view of the profound changes taking place in Mexican agriculture, which has always been at the state of the art, and is now grappling with the challenges of the ongoing climate changes.”
