"Greenhouse production in Russia will be decreasing"

The president of the Greenhouse Association of Russia, Mr. Aleksey Sitnikov announced that within the coming 5 years about 250-300 ha of greenhouses will be out of order and the greenhouse production will decrease up to 70-100 thousand tons a year.

“In 2019 the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation announced the unexpected change in the system of state support of the agricultural complex: since this year they have stopped compensating for the capital investments in the greenhouse complexes construction, that is up to 10% reimbursement (20% in 2017). Earlier they were planning to maintain this policy until 2020 inclusive. The investors were expecting this support and today are leaving the sphere where the rules change so unpredictably”, explained Mr. Sitnikov.
