Dutch Royal family discuss farming in India with East-West Seed

His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are visiting the Republic of India at the invitation of President Ram Nath Kovind.

On October 15, the King and Queen visited the DST-CII India Netherlands Technology Summit 2019 organised in New Delhi.

Dilip Rajan, Managing Director of East-West Seed India, had the opportunity to present to them about the company's commitment and journey in serving smallholder farming - helping these farmers increase their yields for the past 16 years.

Both the King and Queen demonstrated interest in East-West Seed’s approach and extended their warm congratulations to Simon N. Groot, a Dutch seedsman and founder of East-West Seed, for winning the 2019 World Food Prize.

Other dignitaries present were Dr. Harshavardhan, Minister of Science and Technology, Health and Family Welfare and Earth Science, Government of India and H.E Mona Keijzer, State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Government of The Netherlands.

East-West Seed will continue to engage the dutch delegation on Thursday, October 17 - the same day Mr. Groot receives the World Food Prize in the United States - in several trade and agriculture related activities.
