Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing organizers sign alliance deal with HortEx Vietnam

The organisers of HortEx Vietnam, which will take place from 26-28 February 2020, have entered into an exclusive alliance with China Great Wall International Exhibition Co., Ltd. (GIE), organiser of Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing.

GIE will be the third organiser of HortEx Vietnam, together with Minh Vi Exhibition & Advertisement Services Co., Ltd (VEAS) from Vietnam and Nova Exhibitions B.V. (NOVA) from The Netherlands.

By entering into an exclusive alliance deal with GIE, the organisers will have a greater opportunity and strength to develop HortEx Vietnam into the leading and largest trade show for horticulture and floriculture in Southeast Asia.

The professionalism and support of GIE is to create added value to the exhibition and is expected to be beneficial for exhibitors and visitors.

Great Wall International Exhibition Co., Ltd. (GIE)
GIE has been organising the Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing (Hortiflorexpo China) since 1998, China World Fruit and Vegetable Fair (China FVF) since 2009 and many other events within the floricultural and horticultural sector in China and abroad.

GIE has an extensive network both inside and outside of China and is one of the biggest professional exhibition organisers in China.

Through organizing Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing and China FVF, GIE attracts foreign investors to China with their technology and products as well as promoting Chinese fruits & vegetables and flowers & plants exports internationally. China has become not only the largest import country but also the largest export country in the world for horticultural products.

With the strong and matured development of the Chinese companies, many key industry players are now interested in enlarging their production base outside China in order to meet their customers’ needs.

Mrs. Yang Cheng, President of GIE states: “Our choice to co-operate with the organisers of HortEx Vietnam is a logical one as we believe in the huge potential market of Vietnam and through this co-operation we will be able to contribute to the development of the exhibition and develop it into the largest trade exhibition for horticulture in Southeast Asia”.

Accelerating growth HortEx Vietnam
HortEx Vietnam is the first specialised exhibition and conference for Horticultural and Floricultural Production and Processing Technology in Vietnam and was launched in March 2018.

Already during the second edition in 2019 the exhibition doubled in terms of size compared to the first edition in 2018.

During the last edition of HortEx Vietnam nearly 200 exhibitors from 28 countries showcased their products and latest novelties.

By entering into an exclusive alliance deal with GIE, HortEx Vietnam will accelerate the growth path it’s already on and will benefit from the network and expertise of GIE as organiser of Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing.

Growing market
Vietnam, with a population of nearly 97 million people and an average GDP growth of 7.5% per year and the fastest growing economy in the ASEAN region (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), has expressed the ambition to become the vegetable growing heart of Southeast Asia.

Horticulture and floriculture are one of the most promising sectors of the Vietnamese economy.

Vietnam's fruit and vegetable industry has seen significant growth in recent years, especially in exports: Fruit and vegetable exports in 2018 set a record with a growth rate of 10.8%, exceeding the country's crude oil export turnover.

Furthermore, Vietnam has the potential to become one of the world’s largest flower exporters according to experts.

HortEx Vietnam 2020
The next edition of HortEx Vietnam is scheduled for 26-28 February 2020 and will once again take place at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.
