Levelling: a new step towards the first sowing in the new greenhouse

In Oude-Tonge, Ad Coolbergen and his team are eagerly awaiting the first sowing in the new greenhouse. This week, a new step was made with levelling the greenhouse. Ad: "That has to be done before we can move the coconut and compost into the greenhouse to improve the soil structure."

They are busy working with five tractors. Four tractors to level the ground and one tractor with cultivator to loosen the ground before levelling.

3.4 hectare extra greenhouse
In the photo below, the large fleet can be seen with which the men of RCM Hofstede Loonbedrijf & Grondverzet prepare the greenhouse for radishes.

The new greenhouse, 3.4 hectare in total, is built attached to the existing greenhouse of 10 hectare, as can be seen on the photo (radish in the background). With the extra soil, it will become possible for Ortolanda Oude-Tonge to spare the soil more and having to steam less. Important, now it is becoming increasingly challenging for radish growers to keep diseases and plagues outside with the disappearance of agents.
