This is what the Dezhou Horti Center in China will look like

Following the World Horti Center in the Dutch Westland, the initiative to realize the Horti Center in Dezhou has been taken. Dezhou is a city in the northwest of the Shandong province of China, where a lot of horticultural and agricultural developments are taking place.

AAB has been called upon to be the architect in charge of coming up with the design of the building. By now, a building specifically for the location has been designed, but with an international appearance that both during the day and at night showcases high-tech greenhouse horticulture.

Architect Anton Hanemaaijer: “To be able to work on the creation of the World Horti Center design and also work on the design of the Horti Center in Dezhou that followed is great. Earlier this year, I visited Dezhou to see the location and the surrounding area and to discuss the first concept with local partners. This led to the design not only being created from a Dutch mindset, but that specific spaces have been designed for the local companies and culture.”

AAB was commissioned by van Shandong Dutch Standard Greenhouse Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. (‘DSG’) and in collaboration with Dutch Greenhouse Operation Group BV (‘DGOG’) to design the main building. AAB also develops the technical designs of the greenhouses in collaboration with HortiTech. Besides the design in Dezhou, AAB is also involved with other Horti Center initiatives.
