A video by Markus Nöthen, from Redpack Maschinen GmbH, shows the iceberg lettuce packaging machine, which can be operated stationary or mobile on a harvester. The output per hour for a well-rehearsed team with a regular product is at about 4,000 to 4,500 packagings per minute.
"Compared with other harvesting systems, the much lower investment costs, the reduced personnel requirement and the simpler and lighter packaging are to be emphasized." The power supply can be a so-called emergency power supply. "The same applies to the compressed air supply," comments Nöthen.
