Receptacle makes sulfur evaporator safer

In consultation with Interpolis, Nivola developed the receptacle as an additional safety device for the sulfur evaporator. Matthijs Caspers from Nivola: "The receptacle was tested in Heinenoord and reduces the risk of fire damage from sulfur evaporators."

The Nivola sulfur evaporators have been in use for decades by growers to prevent mildew. Unfortunately, a number of times a fire did start with the ground cloth, crop and the cultivation table due to non-compliance with the instructions for use of the sulfur evaporator. This was often caused by the sulfur evaporator not hanging straight and the bin becoming too full, damaged or leaking. Sulfur ended up on the hot heating element and then fell down burning.

Nivola and Interpolis thought about a safe solution together. And with success. The receptacle was developed as an additional safety device for the sulfur evaporator. This was subsequently tested at a grower in Heinenoord. Interpolis observed the test.

Caspers: “Starting from this year, sulfur is available in the form of sulfur tablets. A great time to use the sulfur evaporator with extra confidence. Of course it remains prudent to regularly check the condition of the sulfur evaporator bins and to replace damaged bins. We strongly recommend the use of the receptacle to counter the aforementioned risks. The receptacle can also be ordered separately and are sold through the regular wholesalers."

Peter van der Sar of Interpolis on this: "With the addition of this receptacle to the sulfur evaporators, another cause of fire in the greenhouse and crop damage is removed."

Nivola will be at the GreenTech, booth 12.815.
