Russia: Volgograd greenhouse complex back in business

People in the Russian region of Volgograd will be able to buy locally produced vegetables, greenery and seedlings again.

The greenhouse complex in Tonshalovo worked three years ago, however, it was closed due to debts. Now a local farmer has decided to revive the half-ruined enterprise. One 7 ha greenhouse has been launched so far.

Former employees have returned to the greenhouse. The growers are planning to grow tomatoes and cucumbers.

The grower, Marina Fokina, commented: “I’ve been a flower grower all my life and I love plants. We are planning to plant 800 thousand pieces of flowers and 200 thousand pieces of vegetables”.
