The Spanish Association of Manufacturers-Exporters of Agricultural Machinery and its Components (AGRAGEX) will attend the 2019 edition of Fruit Logistica, the biggest platform of commercial exchange for the horticulture sector in the world, which will be held in Berlin (Germany) from the 6th to the 8th of February.
Every year, many big companies of the horticultural sector attend this event, which constitutes a great opportunity for all the auxiliary industries involved in different phases of the production process.
A total of ten Spanish firms will attend the Fair, accompanied by AGRAGEX, showing their products and services. Fertri (hall 8.1, stand A-31), Rufepa (hall 8.1, stand A-08), Novagric (hall 8.1, stand A-26) and Ulma Agrícola (hall 8.1, stand A-24) are specialized in the greenhouse manufacture; Rábita Agrotextil (hall 11.2, stand A-02) will represent the agricultural mesh sector; Sotrafa (hall 5.1, stand A-01) produces agricultural plastics; and Artal (hall 8.2, stand A-32), Plymag (hall 8.2, stand A-32), Arvensis (hall 8.2, stand A-01) and Químicas Meristem (hall 10.2, stand A-03) will be representing the crop nutrition and protection sector. AGRAGEX will also attend with its own stand (hall 8.2, stand A-32).
The main objective of the Association during its presence in Fruit Logistica is to make it easier for these companies to approach the purchase departments of big horticultural product manufacturers, with the aim of becoming their supplier.
“Despite that the main focus of the Fair is the horticultural production, the auxiliary industry is getting more and more attention, making Fruit Logistica a mandatory date for many businesses in the sector”, states Juan Luis Arrieta, the international trade advisor of AGRAGEX. “The Association represents the Spanish machinery, equipment and agricultural means of production and its presence in Fruit Logistica is a clear indicator of the strategic importance of this event”.
For Arrieta, “even though this Fair constitutes the ideal meeting point to establish commercial relations with German horticultural producers, its broad outreach makes it a very useful way to enter any market in the world. Besides that, the high degree of professionalism of Fruit Logistica’s visitors, mainly from a commercial background, makes this event a great opportunity for establishing commercial relations with worldwide distributors”.
The Director of Químicas Meristem (one of the Spanish companies that will be with AGRAGEX in Berlin), Ernesto Santaballa, says that “besides being an international forum where the relations with customers can be strengthened and new trade relations can be established, the participation in Fruit Logistica with an own stand entails the opportunity to contact complementary agents in the value chain, where synergies can be identified and exploited with future collaborations. The objective of these alliances is to improve every year the quality and effectiveness of the products offered by the company to its distributors, through innovation and non-stop development”.
In the past edition, Fruit Logistica had an exhibit area of 132,268 square metres, was visited by 78,074 people, 82.5% of whom were foreign. 3,239 companies showcased their products at the Fair, 2,960 of which were overseas exhibitors, coming from 84 different countries.
