Coop scores points with practical and sustainable multibags

Reusable bag for fruits and vegetables from 100% renewable resources

In the supermarkets of the Swiss Coop corporation, there is now the Multi-Bag: a reusable bag for fruits and vegetables. This innovation is causing a stir among domestic consumers, being made of FSC-certified cellulose and having been awarded the Oecoplan label.

The multi-bags can be used again and again and are thus an environmentally friendly alternative to disposable plastic bags. The multi-bag is made from Lenzing ModalĀ®, a cellulose-based fiber. This has several advantages, because in contrast to the production of cotton, the energy and water consumption in the production and processing of cellulose fibers is much lower.

Easy to use
Lenzing ModalĀ® is made from shredded beech wood from FSC-certified managed forests in Central Europe. If necessary, they can even be washed, in the washing machine, at 30 degrees.

The application is also particularly simple and practical. Shopping with the Multi-Bag is done in four steps.
1. Place vegetables or fruits on the scale (without multi-bag)
2. Add products to the Multi-Bag.
3. Stick one or more price labels on the Multi-Bag.
4. Pay at checkout.

The multi-bags are available in larger outlets in sets of three in the fruit department.
