On Saturday December 1, REO Veiling organised a meeting with its future generation of producers. Both young producers and children working in their parents' companies and their partners were welcome at Geert Neerinck and Els Dendauw's horticulture company in Ingelmunster. The inspirational initiative took place for the second time and was popular once again.
Host Geert Neerinck gave the young growers a look at the inner workings of his horticulture company.
There was a pleasant, wide interest for REO Pop-Up II. Over 160 young participants were present during the event. They received a tour through the tomato company of Geert Neerinck. The young people had an active role during the company visit. On the stops in between they exchanged experiences, ideas and opinions with a bite and a drink. At every stop in between an important theme within the company was addressed and highlighted. They were also given a unique look into the horticultural company and the cultivation of tomatoes under light by Geert, Els and employee Kristof.
The young horticulturalists participated in a game playfully suggested by Sinterklaas. Their answers showed them that they should look toward their future as horticulturalists with faith. Afterwards there was a lot of talk in the Pop-Up cafe about the inspiring visit to the company and the interesting presentations.
The REO Veiling used the game to get to know its future generation better and play better into their demands.
