Hazera celebrates 20 years in Polish market

"Our efforts are focused on both red and pink tomatoes"

Hazera Poland is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The company was officially registered in September 1998 and has operated on the Polish market to the present day.

Hazera Poland started its operations with very limited staff and by offering 16 varieties of vegetables. Now, after 20 years of business activity, Hazera Poland is a team of 15 people and its range of products includes almost 160 varieties. New varieties are introduced every year. The main products are onions, cabbages and carrots. Quite recently, for about 6 to 7 years, they have placed a great emphasis on the development of the tomato market, both greenhouse and tunnel, as well as those for field cultivation.

The future
Hazera R&D efforts are focused on both red and pink tomatoes. This includes both tomatoes for production in greenhouses and in tunnels, as well as open field tomatoes. Pink tomatoes are very important on the Polish market. Interestingly, the market of the so-called specialties, i.e. cocktail tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and the tomatoes in various shapes and colors is also growing. Besides tomatoes, Hazera Poland offers the Polish market varieties of onions, carrots, cabbages, radish and lettuce.

'Recipe for success'
According to Renata Jankowska, General manager of Hazera Poland, the recipe for success is to have an excellent team. ‘Only the people committed to their work, are working with great passion and commitment. You cannot succeed only with the product itself. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Our partners are most important - our distributors - companies which have been cooperating with us for 20 years. To mention, for example, the late Wiktor Długosz, for whom I have great respect, and Awimex, the company now run by his wife Anna. Let me also mention Florimex, Jurek, Piobar, Tomato and Flortom, which have been offering our varieties on the Polish market for years and are developing their sales. These people have been with us for 20 years.’
