Even though the production is slightly behind schedule

Excellent quality of Sardinian artichokes

The artichokes are of excellent quality, even though they are slightly behind schedule. The La Colletta cooperative participated in the Fruit Attraction Madrid. Through the fair, the company wants to expand its customer base abroad.

The manager Giorgio Ionta said, “The production of this year is slightly behind schedule and it will be available within a few days. We grow artichokes for 7 months per year, on a 700 hectares surface”.

The cooperative supplies almost all the wholesale markets and it is trying to expand its customer base abroad. That is why they participated in the fair.

“Our varieties of artichokes are Romanesco, Apollo, Life, Violetto, Terom, Spinoso, Opal, Capriccio. The artichoke is the core business of our company - that is what we are specialised in. In addition to the bulk product, we also offer a semi-processed product that is increasingly catching on.

Recently, the company expanded the offer with other products, such as the green asparagus, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, watermelons, melons, cabbages, courgettes, fennels.
