Kazakhstan project unveiled for a nursery with modern equipment

Since the start of the Besana Project in 2014, the groups agricultural activity, carried out today by Besana International Ltd, has been gradually expanding.

The Besana Group, with the aim of actively opposing the reduction of traditional nut production areas worldwide due to climate change, is assisting growers and entrepreneurs in Eastern Europe and Central Asia with the creation of walnut and hazelnut orchards, and in some areas also almond plants, in order to create new nut plantations in areas often abandoned, for decades, after the collapse of the Soviet system, but which are now deemed suitable after specific agronomic analyses. This is meant to meet the product needs of tomorrow, considering the growing demand, especially from China and other emerging countries.

From Poland and Romania, the Project then extended to Ukraine and was particularly intensified in Kazakhstan, where an important pilot plant was created in Turgen, Almaty Oblast, boasting a unique collection of 62 varieties of walnut, hazelnut, almond and pistachio trees.

The Besana Group is also collaborating with important nurseries and  is creating its own facilities for micropropagation, hardening and the growth of plants, to be sold to growers who collaborate with BesanĂ 's Agricultural Project.
