Growers, students, marketers, CEOs and sales managers: they were all there. The international seed manifestation Seed meets Technology has successfully concluded its fifth edition. From the 25 to 27 September, more than 1,700 visitors attended the event, a substantial part of them from abroad.
"This year the event has been strengthened in several aspects. Extra attention has been paid to communication and increasing brand awareness. As a result new participants joined from, among others, countries like Israel and Finland," says the organization. "The diversity in visitors also resulted in a high-quality turnout."
Program
From the organization three symposia were arranged in the field of hydroponics, data processing (phenotyping) and seed treatments. The latter was organized in collaboration with Plantum and attracted a full hall. René Huijsmans (Syngenta), Carole Desbois-Vimont (Limagrain) and Werner Pol (Ctgb) explained their vision on the subject of seed treatments in the future.
Speakers of the hydroponics symposium were Jan Botman (Botman Hydroponics), Arjen Bevelander (Tuinderij Bevelander), Marcel Bugter (AkzoNobel) and Matthijs Blind (Proeftuin Zwaagdijk). The central focus was on the developments in hydroponics and how these are applied in practice at several growers.
In conclusion, on Thursday Ton van Dijk (LetsGrow.com), Jürgen Decloedt (Vito) and Bart Eekhoudt (Flier Systems) gave a fascinating lecture on the collection of data and its processing, so that companies can get to work effectively with the implementation of that data at the company.
The presentations of all symposia can be found on the website of Seed meets Technology.
