Last Friday the younger viewers of NPO received a lesson in bell pepper growing. In the program 'De Buitendienst', a competition was held between three varieties of bell pepper: the vegetable garden bell pepper, the Spanish open field bell pepper, and the Dutch greenhouse bell pepper. In between the various competition elements, bell pepper grower Arnoud van Dijk and Jouke Campen (Wageningen University and Research) explained the details of the business. At the end of the competition, 'the most pitiable bell pepper', vegetable garden bell pepper Karel, won first prize, that is, a life-long stay in the greenhouse of the future, in the World Horti Center.
