Bell peppers pampered at World Horti Center

Every Friday, TV presenters Sosha and Kiefer from the Zapp NPO3 show De Buitendienst go on an adventure in nature. This time they visited the World Horti Center for the educational children's show. The episode takes place in the knowledge and innovation center and is dedicated to sustainable cultivation and innovative applications in greenhouse horticulture and will air on September 21 at 5.40 pm on Zapp.

The presenters will investigate how a bell pepper plant grows under the most favorable conditions. Expert Arnaud van Dijk, bell pepper grower of Coƶperatie DOOR, talks about the use of light, substrate and nutrients that are necessary for healthy growth. The use of robotics in greenhouse horticulture is also discussed.

In the research department of Eminent, the presenters see exclusive bell peppers in an optimal growing environment with colored LED lamps in the growing cell. In the water room they see how the right nutrients for the bell peppers are mixed, after which they visited the year-round exhibition floor with various technical innovations.

Nomination
The children's program presents a number of different bell peppers, including one that can be grown in a vegetable garden. A jury will pick its favorite bell pepper which will then spend the remainder of its life in the research facility of World Horti Center to be pampered under the best of conditions.
