Cucumber variety Sumapol (E23L.2300) is brought to the attention at HortiContact in Gorinchem, the Netherlands. Most striking are the production numbers. "In the tests, the production of Sumapol was ahead of the standard variety, independent of the variety that is next to it", as the team of Enza Zaden informs us. "Sumapol also achieved high production figures in the full greenhouses of last year." In 2017 Sumapol was cultivated on 40 hectares.
Labor
Besides high production figures, the variety is also characterized by high quality and good shelf life. The crop requires little labor and the cucumber is also easy to harvest. Sumapol is also highly mildew resistant, and genetically and in practice has proven to be very resistant to Mycosphaerella.
"In short: a real all-rounder with special resistance for both summer and autumn cultivation," the Enza Zaden team said proudly.
John Verlinden
Last season grower John Verlinden of Kwekerij Verlinden BV already cultivated the cucumber variety Sumapol (E23L.2300). He also saw the characteristics appearing during the cultivation. In both summer and autumn cultivation the cucumber performed to his satisfaction. Reason enough for choosing Sumapol again this year.
