News from the fair
The Philippines is lobbying for market access for its avocado crop. In recent years avocado plantings in the country have increased steeply. Meanwhile, New Zealand is hopeful it will receive market access for avocados early next year.
Strawberry supply from California will increase. Two new shippers were added to the 4 original license holders to export fresh strawberries from the United States to China.
France was present with a large country pavilion. "We are here to discuss kiwiberry market access and to keep relations warm with the Chinese industry."

Australian exports to China have reached new heights this year. Citrus exports have surpassed all previous exports and "Australia's peach and nectarine crop are looking to have a great season, not at all comparable to the disappointing 2016 crop".
A number of Chinese brands and trading companies were present, such as: Botou DongFang Fruit Co., LTD., Joy Wing Mau Group, Shanghai JueYue Fruit Co., LTD., Shenzhen XiYu HuaGuoShan Agricultural Products Development Co., Ltd.
During the Friday and Saturday the China Fresh Conference was staged, with speakers from the Chinese and global fresh produce industry. Topics included updates on China's fresh produce import market, introduction of France's and New Zealand's fruit and veg export product, updates in planting and processing technology and a special focus on Chinese and global brands and brand building. All sessions were well attended throughout the 2 days.
