First 'no cash street market' appears in Hong Kong

Scan, pay, and take your goods. This scene has recently appeared in Hong Kong after having already grown into a common occurrence at domestic food markets. The BaoDa street market has changed: 43 stores on the street have installed a mobile phone or QR-code so city residents can use AliPay to pay for their purchases. This is the first 'no cash street market' that AliPay has created in Hong Kong.

The parent company of AliPay, Ant Financial, and the corporation of the street markets in Hong Kong held a news conference on the 23rd of October. There they officially announced the partnership between AliPay and the Hong Kong street market. They will use BaoDA street as a pilot test and precedent to future 'no cash food markets'. They also plan to introduce the services of AliPay on more street markets in the future.
