New GlobalGAP member GODAN

Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN) supports the proactive sharing of open data to make information about agriculture and nutrition available, accessible, and usable to support the call for world-wide food security. The group is rapidly growing, with over 585 partners from national governments, non-governmental organizations, and private sector organizations that have all committed to a unified Statement of Purpose. The initiative focuses on building high-level support among governments, policymakers, international organizations, and businesses. GODAN promotes collaboration to harness the growing volume of data generated by new technologies in order to solve long-standing problems and to benefit farmers as well as the health of consumers. GODAN encourages the collaboration and cooperation between stakeholders in the sector.

GODAN is pleased to join GlobalGAP as a member, as GlobalGAP is committed to safe, sustainable agriculture across the globe through the use of set voluntary standards for the certification of agricultural products. GODAN believes that joining the GlobalGAP community will bring about a number of opportunities to promote efforts to enhance global food security.

GlobalGAP is now also a GODAN partner, and more information can be found on the GODAN website.
