US (OH): Aquaponics farm hosts breakfast forum

A well-established Ohio aquaponics farm will share information on utilizing fish and hydroponic systems to grow produce sustainably year-round, at the Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum. The event is hosted by the Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT) at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation (AIF).



Located in Union County, Ohio, Jeni and Doug Blackburn, owners of Fresh Harvest Farms, will discuss the sustainability of aquaponics, challenges with Ohio’s climate, and provide insight into their success.

Fresh Harvest Farms consists of three large greenhouses and more than 10,000 yellow perch.

Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum
The Forum, held every third Thursday, is an opportunity to gain information on current issues, trends and programs in the agricultural community and those who support the agricultural economy.



Arrive early, as breakfast and informal networking will start at 8 a.m., with the program to follow at 8:30 a.m. The cost is just $10 per person when you RSVP in advance, or $12 per person at the door (cash or check; make check payable to CIFT) which includes breakfast and networking opportunities. Guests are encouraged to reserve a seat in advance.
