China, World Food Programme discuss enhanced cooperation

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu of China met with Mr. Manoj Juneja, Assistant Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), in Beijing on 23 August 2017. The two sides exchanged views on enhancing cooperation.



Vice Minister Qu highly appreciated WFP’s contribution to eliminating hunger and malnutrition both in China and the world, and introduced in detail China’s successful experience in agricultural and rural development and poverty reduction. He noted that China is willing to tighten relations with WFP on South-South Cooperation (SSC) and contribute to improving world food security.



Mr. Juneja extended his gratitude for China’s long-time support to WFP and made positive remarks on China’s efforts to address global hunger. He said that WFP is ready to continue exchanges and cooperation with China and draw on China’s experience and advantages to tackle the global food security issue.
