US: Ball trial sees 45% yield increase in strawberry production
Ball DPF released the results of several research trials and impact studies for its Nature’s Source Plant Food, including a yield comparison trial for strawberry production where Cumulative Marketable Production by Pick Day showed a 45% increase with Nature’s Source when combined with half the grower standard nitrogen rate.
The study by Holden Research and Consulting compared full-rate treatments of Nature’s Source Organic Plant Food 3-1-1 foliar applications and Nature’s Source Professional 10-4-3 in the soil with half nitrogen, to the grower standard of 175 lbs of total nitrogen per acre with half-rate Nature’s Source, and resulted in 60% greater net return dollars due to the 45% greater yield.
“This research trial shows our agriculture customers the effectiveness of Nature’s Source products,” says Chance Finch, General Manager of Ball DPF. “Getting a higher yield while using less chemicals provides a benefit to both the bottom line and the environment.”
