May 2016: Pepper robot, DripCaps and Gas Analyzer

Here are some highlights of May 2016, a month full of innovation. A Dutch bell pepper grower started trials with the sweet pepper harvesting robot Sweeper. After testing and selection of individual modules, the first model of the robot was integrated by Dutch company Irmato in Veghel.



Another innovation we paid attention to where the simple plastic caps from CubeCap that serve as a vapor barrier. It was proven to be the most simple solution to save money on expensive fertilizers, improve crop yields, and decrease the water footprint.



Also innovation at British bell pepper grower Tangmere Airfield Nurseries Ltd.. This grower installed a special tool inside their glasshouses to analyze the gases present. "It is of vital importance to know what is inside these gases", explained Tangmere's General Manager Gerard Vonk. "If you measure things, you know things and you can optimize the growth even better."
