While the world’s population is expected to reach 9 billion in the coming decades, the demand for sustainable and safe food production will also increase exponentially. In this light, Horticulture can offer fresh food and vegetables grown in a controlled environment. It can practically eliminate usage of pesticides and herbicides, greatly reducing the amount of water needed to effectively grow more crops per square meter. The shortage of useable land will also be addressed. “The future of horticulture looks very bright in the next 3 years,” says Peter Spaans, Director of Van der Hoeven Horticultural projects.
One way to develop the horticulture business is by finding the best solution to problems. In order to get everyone started, Horti Asia exhibition will be adopting “Solutions for Horticulture industry” as its theme for its upcoming edition. The exhibition aims to be a powerful platform in pooling together horticulture experts from many countries, specialists from top companies and also relevant associations to share knowledge, provide the best solutions for marketing problems, give advice on new technologies and learn about appropriate innovations which will increase more productivity and save more investments for Asian farmers.
Some international government-based and horticulture associations which have already confirmed to be a part of the exhibition are Horticulture Science Society of Thailand, Foundation of Agriculture Technology Commercialization and Transfer from Korea, Embassy of The Netherlands, German Agriculture Association and AGRAGEX from Spain. Also, participants will witness German Showcase under DLG special zone, which will present the latest innovation and technology to increase yields in Horticulture production processes for fruit, flower, and vegetable in the Asia-Pacific region.
Be sure to mark your calendars for Horti Asia 2017 between 15-17 March 2017, Bangkok, Thailand.
